Past Perfect is built entirely from museum open data. Every object here comes with a licence its museum published, and the game never uses an image whose rights are unclear.

What "in play" means

1,014 objects have cleared all three gates: an open licence stated by the museum, a date precise enough to compare, and an image we could actually fetch. Those objects generate 23,002 questions whose answers are provable. How the rights gate works →
